Freelancer Terms & Conditions
Terms for freelance care staff who accept assignments through the Carelix Platform.
1 Acceptance of Terms
By registering on the Carelix app, submitting the registration form, ticking the declaration checkboxes, or using the Platform in any way, you (the Freelancer) confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
Carelix reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be communicated via the app or SMS/email to your registered mobile number. Continued use of the Platform after notification constitutes acceptance.
2 Eligibility
To register as a Freelancer on the Carelix Platform, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Hold a valid Aadhaar card and PAN card in your name.
- Have a valid Indian mobile number and bank account in your own name.
- For nursing roles: hold a valid GNM, ANM, B.Sc. Nursing, or equivalent qualification and be registered with the respective State Nursing Council.
- For other care roles: possess the relevant experience and skills as declared during registration.
- Not have any criminal convictions for offences involving violence, theft, fraud, or abuse.
Carelix reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time and to suspend accounts that do not meet eligibility criteria.
3 Registration and Account
3.1 Accurate Information
You agree to provide complete and truthful information during registration. This includes your name (matching Aadhaar/PAN), age, gender, experience, job role, location, and bank details. Providing false information or uploading fake documents is a serious breach and grounds for immediate removal and legal action.
3.2 Account Security
Your account is accessed via OTP on your registered mobile number. Keep your mobile number secure.
Do not share your OTP with anyone, including anyone claiming to be from Carelix. Carelix will never ask for your OTP.
You are responsible for all activity on your account. Report any suspected unauthorised access to info@carelixhealthcare.com immediately.
3.3 Carelix Unique ID
Upon activation, Carelix will assign you a Unique ID. This ID identifies you on the Platform and must be carried during all Assignments. Do not share your Unique ID with unauthorised persons.
3.4 One Account Per Freelancer
Each person may maintain only one Freelancer account on the Platform. Duplicate accounts will be suspended and pending payments may be withheld.
4 Assignment Rules
4.1 Accepting Assignments
Assignments are allocated by Carelix based on your role, location, and availability. You will be notified via the app or by Carelix's team.
Accept or reject an Assignment within the time specified. Repeated rejections without valid reason may affect your allocation priority.
Once an Assignment is accepted, it is a commitment. Cancellation must be done with at least 4 hours' notice.
4.2 Conduct at Assignments
Arrive on time. Repeated late arrivals will result in warnings and may lead to suspension.
Carry your Carelix Unique ID and qualification certificate (if applicable) to every Assignment.
Dress professionally and maintain personal hygiene appropriate for a healthcare setting.
Treat Clients and their family members with dignity, patience, and respect at all times.
Follow care instructions provided by the Client or their family, unless they are unsafe or beyond your scope of practice.
Do not bring unauthorised individuals to the Client's premises.
Do not use the Client's belongings, food, phone, or resources without explicit permission.
Do not accept cash, gifts, or valuables from Clients beyond your Assignment Fee.
Report any incidents, emergencies, or concerns at the Client's premises to Carelix immediately.
Mark the Assignment as complete on the Platform once finished, as instructed.
4.3 Scope of Role
Perform only the duties associated with your registered job role. Do not perform medical procedures beyond your qualification and scope.
Nurses must comply with the Indian Nursing Council's code of professional conduct.
Caretakers and attendants must focus on non-clinical personal care, mobility assistance, and daily activity support unless specifically qualified otherwise.
5 Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Physically, verbally, emotionally, or financially abuse a Client or their family.
- Steal, damage, or misuse any property belonging to a Client or their household.
- Attend an Assignment under the influence of alcohol or any intoxicating substance.
- Administer medication or perform medical procedures beyond your scope and qualification.
- Misrepresent your qualifications, role, or identity to Clients.
- Share Client personal or medical information with any third party.
- Solicit Clients to book your services directly outside the Carelix Platform during your active period and for 12 months after termination.
- Engage in behaviour that is sexually inappropriate, discriminatory, or otherwise unprofessional.
- Photograph, record, or share images or videos of Clients or their home without explicit consent.
Violations may result in immediate termination, recovery of damages, and reporting to the police or relevant authorities.
6 Availability and Work Preferences
Keep your availability updated on the Platform. If you are unavailable for a period, mark yourself as unavailable to avoid Assignment allocation.
Your registered shift preference (12 hours / 24 hours / both) determines the type of Assignments allocated to you. Inform Carelix if this changes.
Carelix does not guarantee a minimum number of Assignments. Assignment availability depends on Client demand in your area.
7 Payments
You will be paid at your fixed day/shift rate as per Schedule A, calculated on actual duty days completed and verified by Carelix.
Carelix collects payment from Clients at its own rates which are not disclosed to you. You have no right to information about or claim over what Carelix charges Clients.
Payments are settled weekly or bi-weekly to your registered bank account, subject to duty completion confirmation and no active disputes.
TDS will be deducted as applicable and Form 16A will be issued.
Payment disputes must be raised within 15 days of the relevant settlement date by writing to info@carelixhealthcare.com.
Carelix is not responsible for delays due to incorrect bank details provided by you. Ensure your bank information is accurate and updated.
8 Ratings and Performance
Clients rate your service after each Assignment. Ratings are factored into future Assignment allocation.
Carelix may issue warnings or suspend accounts for consistently low ratings, repeated complaints, or poor attendance.
You may raise concerns about a rating you believe is unfair by writing to info@carelixhealthcare.com. Carelix will review and decide at its discretion.
9 Background Verification
By registering on the Platform, you consent to Carelix conducting background verification including identity checks, address verification, criminal record checks, and reference checks. Activation is subject to satisfactory verification results. Carelix may conduct periodic re-verification.
10 Suspension and Termination
10.1 By You
You may request deactivation at any time by writing to info@carelixhealthcare.com with 15 days' notice. Any active or upcoming Assignments must be completed or properly cancelled before deactivation.
10.2 By Carelix
Carelix may suspend or permanently remove your account for:
- Providing false registration information or fake documents.
- Misconduct, abuse, or criminal behaviour at a Client's premises.
- Repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations without valid reason.
- Repeated low ratings or unresolved Client complaints.
- Breach of any term in this document or the Freelancer Service Agreement.
- Failing background re-verification.
10.3 Effect of Termination
Your Unique ID will be deactivated, your profile removed from the Platform, and pending earnings for completed Assignments settled within 30 days. Confidentiality and non-solicitation obligations continue after termination.
11 Limitation of Liability
Carelix is a technology platform that connects Freelancers with Clients. Carelix is not liable for:
- Any harm caused by the Freelancer to a Client or their property.
- Loss of Assignment income due to Platform downtime or low Client demand.
- Any dispute between the Freelancer and Client that arises outside the Platform.
Carelix's maximum liability to you shall not exceed the total Assignment Fees paid to you in the preceding 3 months.
12 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes shall be resolved as per the mechanism in the Freelancer Service Agreement.
