Doctor Terms & Conditions
Terms for doctors and medical professionals offering consultations through the Carelix platform.
1 Acceptance of Terms
By downloading the Carelix app, submitting a registration form, ticking the declaration checkboxes, or using the Carelix platform in any way, you (the Doctor) confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not proceed with registration.
Carelix reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Updated terms will be communicated via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after such notice constitutes acceptance.
2 Eligibility
To register as a Doctor on the Carelix platform, you must:
- Hold a valid MBBS or higher medical qualification recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the relevant State Medical Council.
- Be currently registered with a recognised State Medical Council or the National Medical Commission of India.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a valid Indian mobile number and bank account in your own name.
- Not be under any disciplinary action, suspension, or debarment by any medical regulatory body at the time of registration.
Carelix may, at its discretion, allow other qualified healthcare professionals (e.g. dentists, physiotherapists) to register under appropriate service categories. The same eligibility principles apply.
3 Registration and Account
3.1 Accurate Information
You agree to provide truthful, accurate, and complete information during registration and to keep your profile updated at all times. Providing false information — including fake documents, incorrect qualifications, or a name that does not match your KYC — is a serious breach and grounds for immediate removal and potential legal action.
3.2 Account Security
Your account is accessed via OTP on your registered mobile number. You are responsible for keeping your mobile number secure.
Do not share your OTP with anyone, including anyone claiming to be from Carelix. Carelix will never ask for your OTP.
Notify Carelix immediately at info@carelixhealthcare.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
You are liable for all activity that takes place under your account.
3.3 One Account Per Doctor
Each doctor may maintain only one account on the platform. Duplicate accounts will be suspended.
4 Profile and Listings
4.1 Profile Accuracy
Your Doctor Profile is publicly visible on the Carelix website and app once activated. You are responsible for ensuring your profile accurately reflects your name, qualifications, specialisation, consultation fees, available modes, clinic address, and coverage area.
4.2 Profile Updates
Fee changes: update at least 7 days in advance. Changes will not apply to already-confirmed bookings.
Availability: keep your calendar updated to avoid booking cancellations.
Address/location: update immediately if your clinic moves or your home-visit coverage area changes.
Medical registration: notify Carelix immediately if your registration is renewed, suspended, or lapsed.
4.3 Carelix's Right to Edit
Carelix may edit or remove any profile content that is inaccurate, misleading, unprofessional, or in violation of these Terms, without prior notice.
5 Consultation Services and Conduct
5.1 Standard of Care
You agree to provide consultation services to patients with the standard of care expected of a qualified medical professional. You are solely responsible for your clinical decisions and outcomes.
5.2 Online Consultations
You must comply with the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020 issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
You must not prescribe Schedule X drugs or any drugs not permitted under telemedicine guidelines during online consultations.
You must issue a prescription in the prescribed format where required.
5.3 Home Visit
You are responsible for travelling to the patient's location within your stated coverage radius.
You must carry appropriate identification and professional credentials to each home visit.
You must not engage in any conduct at a patient's home that could be deemed unsafe, inappropriate, or unprofessional.
5.4 Clinic Visit
Your clinic details must be accurate. Patients rely on the clinic name and address shown on the platform to physically visit you.
You are responsible for managing your clinic's appointment slots and ensuring it is accessible to patients.
5.5 Honouring Bookings
You must honour all confirmed bookings. If you cannot attend a confirmed booking, you must cancel with a minimum of 4 hours' notice via the platform. Repeated cancellations without notice may result in suspension or removal from the platform.
5.6 Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Provide false or misleading medical advice.
- Prescribe controlled substances inappropriately or without examination where required.
- Discriminate against patients on the basis of gender, religion, caste, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
- Use the Carelix platform to promote any personal product, supplement, or pharmacy with which you have a financial interest, without disclosure.
- Directly solicit patients acquired through Carelix to book consultations outside the platform, during your active period on Carelix and for 12 months after termination.
6 Ratings, Reviews, and Complaints
Patients may rate and review your services on the platform. Carelix publishes these ratings publicly on your profile.
You may not ask patients to remove negative reviews or offer incentives for positive reviews.
Carelix may investigate patient complaints and may temporarily suspend your profile during investigation.
If a complaint is found to be valid, Carelix may issue a warning, reduce your profile visibility, or remove you from the platform depending on severity.
You may raise a dispute about a review you believe is false or malicious by writing to info@carelixhealthcare.com. Carelix will assess and decide at its sole discretion.
7 Payments, Commission, and Taxes
7.1 Fee Collection
Carelix collects consultation fees from patients on your behalf through the platform's payment gateway and remits your earnings after deducting the applicable platform commission.
7.2 Settlement
Settlements are made to your registered bank account within 7–15 working days of a completed booking. Carelix may withhold settlement in case of an active patient dispute or complaint.
7.3 Refunds
If a patient is entitled to a refund (e.g. doctor did not attend, booking cancelled by doctor), the refund will be processed from your pending settlement. Carelix's refund policy for patients applies.
7.4 Your Tax Responsibilities
You are responsible for declaring your Carelix earnings and paying income tax as applicable.
Carelix will deduct TDS as required under the Income Tax Act, 1961, and issue Form 16A.
If you are liable to register for GST, you must do so and manage your own GST compliance. Carelix is not responsible for your GST obligations.
8 Suspension and Termination
8.1 By You
You may request deactivation of your account at any time by writing to info@carelixhealthcare.com with 30 days' notice. Confirmed bookings must be honoured or cancelled with appropriate notice to patients before deactivation.
8.2 By Carelix
Carelix may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you:
- Provide false information or fake documents.
- Lose your medical registration.
- Receive serious or repeated patient complaints.
- Violate any provision of these Terms or the Doctor Service Agreement.
- Are found to be engaged in fraudulent, unethical, or illegal activity.
- Misuse the platform or attempt to damage Carelix's reputation or systems.
8.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination your profile will be removed from the platform. Pending earnings for completed bookings will be settled within 30 days. Your data retention rights are described in Part 2 (Privacy Policy).
9 Intellectual Property
All content on the Carelix platform — including the brand name, logo, app design, and website — is owned by Carelix Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. You may not use, reproduce, or imitate any Carelix intellectual property without prior written permission.
You grant Carelix the right to display your name, photograph, qualifications, and profile details on the platform for the purpose of facilitating patient bookings. This licence ends when your account is deactivated.
10 Limitation of Liability
Carelix is a technology platform that connects doctors with patients. Carelix is not a medical service provider and is not liable for:
- Any clinical outcome, medical error, or patient harm arising from your consultation services.
- Any regulatory action taken against you by a medical council or government authority.
- Loss of income due to platform downtime, technical issues, or changes in platform features.
Carelix's total liability to you in any circumstance shall not exceed the commission earned by Carelix from your bookings in the 3 months preceding the claim.
11 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the dispute resolution mechanism described in the Doctor Service Agreement.
